Frequently Asked Questions
What types of symptoms do you work with?
We work with clients navigating symptoms like fatigue, digestive issues, headaches, hormonal changes, immune system stress, and a general feeling of being unwell. Whether your symptoms are new or have been building over time, we’ll work together to uncover the root causes and create a personalized plan that fits your life.
What happens during the first session?
Your first session is a 60-minute deep dive into your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. We’ll start connecting the dots and create a customized action plan based on where you are and where you want to go.
How long are follow-up sessions?
Follow-up sessions are typically 30 minutes and are designed to monitor progress, fine-tune your plan, and keep you moving forward with consistent support.
Do you accept insurance?
NutriFluency does not accept insurance. However, we can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you may be able to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan. Please check with your insurer for details about your out-of-network benefits. We do accept HSA/FSA cards as payment.
What are your credentials?
Our founder, Heather Ware, holds a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition (MSCN) from Sonoran University and is a Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS) candidate. Her approach blends evidence-based nutrition science with personalized, real-world support to help you build lasting wellness
Do you offer functional testing?
Yes — when appropriate. Testing options include:
Epigenetic hair analysis
Functional blood chemistry interpretation
Stool testing for gut health
Sex hormone/stress hormone panels
micronutrient analysis
Testing is not always required, but it can provide powerful insights to guide your plan.
What is epigenetic hair analysis, and how does it work?
Epigenetic hair analysis provides a real-time snapshot of how your body has been responding to nutrition, stress, and environmental factors over the past 90 days.
A small sample (4-6 strands including the follicle) is collected either in person or remotely. If remote, we’ll send you a kit with easy instructions, and you’ll return the sample by mail.
Results typically come back about a week after the lab receives your sample, along with a personalized report and recommendations.
Hair analysis is available for clients over the age of 1 year.
How is nutrition consulting different from medical care?
Nutrition consulting is designed to educate and support — not to diagnose or treat disease. I work with you to uncover nutrition and lifestyle factors influencing your health and help you create a strong foundation for healing, alongside your existing healthcare providers.
Why focus on symptoms now instead of waiting until things get worse?
Symptoms are often your body’s early warning signs — letting you know something needs attention.
Addressing imbalances like poor sleep, blood sugar swings, stress overload, nutrient deficiencies, or other changes early on can make a huge difference over time.
Small, targeted changes today can improve how you feel right now and help build resilience, better immunity, and a stronger quality of life for years to come.
